My 2.6c will work perfectly fine with a given codec and setting and then throw up an inexplicable error message when repeating the same task. I do have my doubts about the 2.6 versions. I’d have to think that, at that point, the thing will be working. If that doesn’t work, I’d try a 2.0 install and give that a go. The acid test here is to first try a test using the MSV 1 codec with 2.6b. The poster noted that he is using Win 7, so we can assume that the issues we might see with dll’s and Vista would not be a problem, although they can’t absolutely be eliminated.
